All India Board Sailing Championship 2022 - Goa
The All India Boardsailing Championships 2022 was conducted by Goa Yachting Association at Dona Paula Under the aegis of the Yachting Association of India from 20th April to 24th April 2022.
This event is one of the Asian Games Selection Trials for RS:X Men and RS:X Women. Over 30 windsurfers participated from all over the country with representations from Maharashtra, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Jammu & Kashmir and Goa .
In the RS:X Women’s category, our ace windsurfer sailor Ishwarya Ganesh clinched the championship with 1st place in all the 12 races and claimed the gold medal ahead of Manaswani Maharana of Orissa Yachting Association (OYA) who was awarded the silver. The wind conditions were challenging varying from light to moderate throughout the Championship.
The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Chief Guest Capt. Jitendra Dixit, Hon. Jt. Secretary of Yachting Association of India. He praised the sailors on their excellent performance and complimented GYA on the well organised regatta.
